The children of South Park are incredibly excited when the film of Canadian comedians Terrance and Phillip, Asses on Fire, hits the big screen. Much to the chagrin of their parents, who don’t appreciate the film’s corrupting influence on their youth at all. To stop the immoral proceedings, they have the comedians arrested by the American government, thereby triggering a war between the US and Canada. Meanwhile, in Hell, Satan and Saddam Hussein are plotting to take over the world. Just your average day in South Park, really.
Fans of South Park already know that its creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are masters at combining crude humour with clever satire. No less impressive is the duo’s musical talent. This film adaption of the cult series is filled with catchy songs that blame Canada or suggest sexual antics with one’s uncle. Definitely not suitable for children, but great fun for anyone who remains a child at heart.
